Choreographer Teresa Rotemberg at Attakkalari

Attakkalari’s Diploma in Movement Arts and Mixed Media is an intensive, comprehensive, two-year training programme in contemporary dance. 2019 will mark the 14th year of Attakkalari’s full time diploma and the graduating students will be mentored by Teresa Rotemberg for their final choreographic presentation.

Teresa Rotemberg will be in India from 21 July to 10 August at Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts in Bengaluru. She will be mentoring the students of the Diploma in Movement Arts and Mixed Media at Attakkalari to create a choreographic work for their graduation showcase scheduled for 9 and 10 August 2019. Teresa will use the sound scores by Tanja Müller for the choreographies.
Born in Buenos Aires, Teresa Rotemberg distinguishes herself through her extremely versatile work. She regularly creates dance theatre pieces with her own Zurich based company, Company Mafalda, which she founded in 1999 with a mostly international cast of versatile dancers.. Lately she has focussed on productions for children and teenagers/young adults, Furthermore, the choreographer engages in community outreach projects and creates pieces with amateurs, teenagers and children. Her repertoire also includes work as a guest choreographer with renowned dance and ballet companies. She can also look back over a long string of engagements as a choreographer for opera, including the State Opera House in Vienna, the Opera House Zurich, the Wagner-Festival in Budapest, the Opera Basel, the National Opera London, and, most recently, the Paris Opera House
Audio designer and composer Tanja Müller graduated in Audiodesign in Basel, Switzerland and studied classical percussion at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany with Professor Bernhard Wulff. Since 2004 she has been creating various electronic music for productions of Company Mafalda and Teresa Rotemberg among others.
