Daniel Robert Hunziker invited by Lahore Biennale

The Lahore Biennale 01 (LB01) is a fourteen-day event that will deploy Lahore as a platform for a dynamic art exhibition. In addition to the artwork and site-specific art projects there will be a program of discursive academic talks by prominent scholars. This educational and cultural outreach planned by the Foundation is central to its mission. LB01 aims to foster a new and more meaningful understanding of the city and the region, by engaging with Lahore as a complex and multi-layered urban space.

Invitation to Action is a curated show that sits within the larger exhibition of artworks for the Lahore Biennale LB01 that takes an engagement with the diversity of the city of Lahore across the many locations around Lahore.

Daniel Robert Hunziker, Swiss exhibition design and installation expert will be in Lahore to facilitate the installation of the exhibition. The main focus of Daniel’s artistic work includes sculpture, installation and site specific commissions.

The exhibition is curated by Mariah Lookman, and the participating artists are: Aisha Khalid, Ayesha Sultana, Minam Apang, Muhanned Cader, T. Shanaathanan, Asvajit Boyle, Mahbub Shah, Lala Rukh, Zahoor ul Akhlaq, Rasel Chowdhury, Alia Syed and Amar Kanwar.

Mubarak Haveli and complex is one of the Lahore Biennale sites is located at Mochi Darwaza (cobbler’s gate) dating back to the seventeenth century in the historic part of the old city that is being especially converted into an exhibition venue.
