Minor Matters
A story of departure, desires, hopes and disappointments. Together with the audience, the narrator lets a farm emerge. Here once lived a farmer. He ordered the fields, fed the animals. He was satisfied. But then he thought there was something missing, so calm and orderly ran his life from morning to night. So he goes to his town on a Saturday evening. Here he meets the woman of his heart. When he founds a family with her, happiness seems perfect. But just as the idyll originates from nothingness, it finally breaks down again.

“This simple story is beautifully told by the wonderful Peter Rinderknecht. He brings fantasy and reality so close together that one can hardly tell from the other”
– Baboró International Arts Festival for Children

Feedback post collaboration

«It is our endeavour at ThinkArts to create experiences for children which spark their imagination and develop their emotional intelligence. Peter Rinderknecht’s Minor Matters is a perfect example of this. Be it at Kolkata or Ranchi, at a school or a gallery, everyone in the audience was captivated by the poignant story of the farmer. Pro Helvetia has been a generous, thoughtful and supportive partner and I look forward to more such collaborations.»

Ruchira Das / Kolkata, India

«It’s amazing with how much passion and expertise Ruchira Das of ThinkArts in Kolkata is perseveringly lobbying for art for children. Her great projects can only be realized thanks to the generous support of Pro Helvetia. I consider it a great privilege and an honorable distinction that I was chosen to help shape these theater days in India with a bag full of experiences, an unusual play and lots of curiosity in my luggage.»
