Fumetto - International Comix-Festival

Fumetto is all about comic art. In about 10 main exhibitions the festival presents new trends and treasures of visual story telling in comic, illustration, and neighbouring art fields. Fumetto is a platform for international comic artists as well as up and coming cartoonists from Switzerland.

Fumetto Comic Art Festival in Lucerne is all set to welcome Ita Mehrotra as part of their team, for the next edition of the festival in April 2018. Pro HeIvetia New Delhi is supporting the three-week internship.

The Festival Directorate and Pro Helvetia New Delhi are delighted with the overwhelming response, the call for application received. After careful consideration, the two have concluded that Ita is best suited for the post.

Ita is a comics maker, illustrator and arts reasearcher. Her comics have been published in ‘Drawing the Line’ (Zubaan Books), ‘City Script’ (Goethe Institute), ‘First Hand’ (Yoda Press), thewire.in and AdAstra Comix. They have been exhibited at ‘Evidence Room’ (KHOJ Artists Association), People Tree, India International Center, among others.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ita is currently Programmes Head at Artreach India, a community arts organisation. She is a PhD scholar at the School of Arts and Aesthetics, Jawaharlal Nehru University, holds a Masters in Visual Arts from Ambedkar University Delhi. She was awarded an exchange year at SciencesPo Paris, is a fellow of the Young Connectors Programme (Swedish Institute) and the Negotiating Routes Grant (KHOJ).

Pro Helvetia wishes Ita a fruitful stint at Fumetto.

Upcoming maintenance work

The application portal myprohelvetia will be updated from 1.1.-7.1.2024. Due to these changes, open applications must be finalized and submitted via the current online portal (myprohelvetia.ch) by the latest 23:59 on 31 December 2023. Until this date, the deadlines and criteria outlined in the current guidelines and calls for applications apply. New applications can be created and submitted in the application portal as of 8 January 2024.
