Karim Noureldin studied at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste Zurich and graduated from the Hochschule für Design und Kunst Basel HGK/University of Art and Design Basel. Based in New York from 1994 – 2001, he relocated after 2001 to Rome, 2005 to London and later Cairo. He currently lives and works in Lausanne, Switzerland. Working in the field of drawings, photos, paintings, textile, ceramics as well as large site-specific installations in a variety of public and private environments, international museums and contemporary art galleries, Karim Noureldin also collaborates regularly on numerous artistic projects with a younger generation of Swiss architects.

Being familiar and having travelled on several occasions to India, Karim intends to solidify his knowledge and contacts within his artistic research and production. “While an Artist-in-Residence always is an open field of developing a project “on site“, my interests and motivation lie in developing an artistic project based around textiles/ceramics and where the manufacturing process will be done in India, in collaboration with specialists within that material practice.”

Karim has already been commissioned by curator Peter Nagy to participate at the upcoming 2022 group-show edition at the Sculpture Park in Jaipur.
