KYTA 2017 celebrates 70 years of Swiss-Indian Friendship

The 4th annual edition of KYTA (Karma Yatri Travel and Art) will be a trilateral programme featuring 16 artists from India, Switzerland and South Korea. The residency will focus on building new artworks spread across the village and its structures, and producing new performances, digital artworks and documentation to be housed permanently in an electronic archive.

The resident artists will be working across a wide spectrum of experimental practices in architecture, sound, music, installation art, dance, fashion, social practice, land art, painting, material research and writing.
An Indo-Swiss dance project will be launched in the north-east of India in 2018 and will be piloted with Indian dancer Ayesha Hassanwalia and Swiss dancer Margarita Kennedy at KYTA 2017. The duo will come together for exchange and collaboration in this edition at Kalga.

70 Years of Swiss-Indian Friendship: Connecting Minds – Inspiring the Future
The Embassy of Switzerland is happy to present an event series celebrating 70 years of Swiss-Indian Friendship. The biennial initiative 70 Years of Swiss-Indian Friendship: Connecting Minds – Inspiring the Future (SIF70) commemorates the anniversary of the Swiss-Indian Treaty of Friendship, which was signed in New Delhi on August 14, 1948.
