Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts is conducting an immersive intensive on light design and interactive stage technologies by leading light designer, Jonathan O’Hear. The residency will be facilitated by Attakkalari’s technical division — TransMedia Technologies. Designed for light designers and technicians in India, this intensive workshop aims to equip professionals in the field with technical know-how as well as artistic sensibilities to be able to design and execute light plans for performances and events. During the two–week laboratory, participants will explore the ways in which technology can enhance live performances. The residency will feature both practical experiments and theoretical discussions.
A trained filmmaker, Jonathan O’Hear creates works that are lumino-kinetic. His artworks have been exhibited in Switzerland, France, Ireland and India and his stage designs have toured internationally. He was artistic co-director of contemporary dance company Neopost Foofwa in Geneva from 2013 to 2017.
