NayanTara Gurung Kakshapati invited to attend Plat(t)form 2018

Photographer, curator, and Festival Director of Photo Kathmandu, NayanTara Gurung Kakshapati will be in Winterthur Switzerland to attend Plat(t)form 2018 at Fotomusuem Winterthur, on the invitation of Pro Helvetia – Swiss Arts Council.
«Plat(t)form 2018 – The Forum for New European Photography» in Winterthur will be held from 26-28 January 2018.
Fotomuseum once again invites young photographers and experts to Winterthur for Plat(t)form 2018, the twelfth curated international portfolio viewing featuring young emerging European photographers. Plat(t)form is aimed at professionals such as curators, gallery owners, publishers, editors and photographers. NayanTara Gurung Kakshapati from Nepal will get an opportunity to introduce herself and her work to an international forum as part of the Expert’s Presentations on Friday, 26 January 2018 during which invited experts and Pro Helvetia guests will be making presentations.
About NayanTara Gurung Kakshapati
NayanTara Gurung Kakshapati is a photographer and curator based in Kathmandu, Nepal. Her work seeks to embrace themes such as change, identity, gender, and history within the context of a Nepal in transition. She enjoys working across platforms to connect visuals, research, sound, pedagogy, and activism. In 2007, she co-founded photo.circle, a photography platform that has facilitated learning, publishing, and audience engagement opportunities for Nepali photographers. In 2010, she co-founded the Nepal Picture Library; a digital photo archive that strives to document a public history of the Nepali people. NayanTara is the Festival Co-Director of Photo Kathmandu, Nepal’s first international photography festival, which she co-founded in 2015.
