AWARD DETAILS

We welcome applications from writers and researchers from India who demonstrate a strong inclination towards critical writing in the fields of visual arts selected candidate will be awarded:

+ A residency of up to 60 days at Villa Sträuli, Winterthur, Switzerland with all expenses covered including return airfare, cost of accommodation, a per diem, as well as travel allowance within Switzerland.
+ A Swiss mentor will be appointed to recommend people and spaces relevant to the recipient’s field of research.
+ Introduction to and facilitation of access to archives, museums, galleries, institutions, artists, writers, and curators.
+ The selected applicant is expected to submit a research paper for publication or a proposal for a curatorial project within three months of the completion of the residency.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

+ Applicants must be Indian citizens.
+ Applicants should have a proven track record in art research and writing.
+ Applicants should be available to attend the residency in Switzerland.
+ There is no age limit.

APPLICATION PROCESS

+ The applicant must submit the complete application with the following details in a single PDF file (maximum size: 10 MB) to takeonartmag@gmail.com by 31 October 2023.
* Four published articles along with the link or scanned copy.
* A residency proposal (500-1000 words) explaining how you intend to make use of your time in Switzerland as well as the research outcomes you foresee.
* Short bio (150-200 words) and CV.
* A motivation letter (400 words) explaining your interest in critical writing and research.

Upcoming maintenance work

The application portal myprohelvetia will be updated from 1.1.-7.1.2024. Due to these changes, open applications must be finalized and submitted via the current online portal (myprohelvetia.ch) by the latest 23:59 on 31 December 2023. Until this date, the deadlines and criteria outlined in the current guidelines and calls for applications apply. New applications can be created and submitted in the application portal as of 8 January 2024.
