Philippe Saire to mentor young choreographers at FACETS 2015
About Philippe Saire
Philippe Saire’s choreography has earned him prestigious awards like the Young Creator Prize from the Vaud Foundation for Artistic Promotion and Creation in 1988 and the Grand Prize from the same foundation in 1998 and the Swiss Prize for Dance and Choreography in 2004. He is credited with more than forty choreography projects, including Cartographies, a continually renewed initiative combining dance, architecture and video. Swiss choreographer Philippe Saire will participate as a mentor at FACETS, Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts’ International Choreography Residency, in Bangalore.
FACETS 2015 will be held from January 5th to February 5th 2015 in Bangalore. During this period the choreographers will create works which will be premiered at the Attakkalari India Biennial 2015 scheduled between February 6th and 15th.
The Residency will act as a mentored production period in which 16 emerging choreographers will benefit from Philippe Saire’s expertise and experience. The outcome of this mentorship will be a new quality performance piece in a creative environment that will premiere at the Attakkalari India Biennial 2015.
