Pitch a story for REPORTAGEN!

Call for exciting ideas for a long form reportage to be published in the
October 2018 edition of REPORTAGEN.
Pro Helvetia New Delhi in collaboration with Reportagen is looking for original unpublished works in English, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu or Bengali. The work will be published online in German translation for the readership of Reportagen, and an extract will be reproduced in the print version of the magazine.

The selected application will be announced in May and two months from the date of acceptance will be available for the final submission of the report, which has to range from 5000 to 8000 words in length.
Guidelines
The reportage must be a journalistic piece on a local theme that has universal relevance, closer to issues concerning humanity and with a strong plot. Portraits, undiscovered and real life stories, new developments (in the broad areas of Technology, Climate, Economics, Politics, Religion), topical socio cultural issues etc. are welcome. It should be well-researched and a sensitively narrated story from the region that has a resonance for any reader in any part of the world.
Most important: No essays or opinion pieces.

Eligibility
The application is open to residents of India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Bhutan.
