Chobi Mela, the international festival of photography since its inception in 2000 has been the most significant photographic event in Asia, and the first of a regular biennale, one that has become one of the highlights of the Asian calendar. It is organised by Drik Picture Library Ltd. and Pathshala South Asian Media Institute.
The Tenth edition of Chobi Mela will be held from

About Salvatore Vitale
Salvatore Vitale is a Swiss-based visual artist and editor. He studied Fine Arts at the Zurich University of Arts (ZHdK) and he was a recipient of the Swiss Arts Council grant in 2015-2016, the PHmuseum Award Grant in 2017, the Swiss Design Awards, FOAM Talent and Punctum Award in 2018. His work has been shown in museums and at photo festivals including the Swiss Center for Photography (FotostiftungSchweiz), PhotoforumPasquart Biel/Bienne, OCAT Shanghai and Shenzhen, MOCAK – Museum of Contemporary Art Krakow, Hamburg Triennale of Photography, T3 Photo Festival Tokyo, and Jaipur International Photography Festival. He is also the co-founder and editor-in-chief of YET magazine, a Swiss-based international photography magazine that focuses on the evolution of photography practice within the contemporary art field.
Vitale is a member of the academy of nominators for the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize. He has judged for ShowOFF— Krakow Photomonth, the Grolsch Unseen Residency, and the Kassel DummyAward to name a few.
Salvatore teaches at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) and he has led workshops worldwide. He also gives lectures, presenting the analysis of some of the most compelling contemporary photography issues.
