Tess Lewis has won various awards for her translations of works by Peter
Handke, Walter Benjamin, Philippe Jaccottet and others, including the
PEN Translation Prize for Maja Haderlap’s Angel of Oblivion and a
Guggenheim Fellowship. She served as co-chair of the PEN Translation
Committee and is an editor for The Hudson Review as well as co-curator
of the Festival Neue Literature, New York City’s annual festival of German
language literature in English.
Tess has translated numerous Swiss authors and works in German, French & English. She will be providing two workshops on translation as part of the Swiss It! initiative presented by the Swiss network in India.
